Do you need to store something or help with your move?
Before You Move
Use a Moving Checklist Like Ours
Okay, you might have everything in your head, and you might even have a good memory. However, remember that this operation involves many details, most of which are completely out of your routine.
Move, but Do It with a Moving Company
Turn to reputable moving companies with a good reputation, adequate equipment, and excellent customer service.
After all, this is about moving the assets of a lifetime.

You are putting your most important physical asset in the hands of third parties.
There are people who call themselves “Moving Companies,” but in reality, it’s just a hard-working individual plus two or three friends looking for odd jobs, without any guarantees, experience, or equipment.
Read Carefully
If you hire a moving company, read the fine print and identify any detrimental clauses.
Take Pictures
Hiring a moving company? Photograph fragile items before packing them.
Photograph the electrical connections of your TV, computer, and other complicated electrical connections. This way, you won’t have to guess by trial and error where each wire goes.
If you’re renting, photograph the empty house. This is essential to get your deposit back. This will save you a lot of headaches with difficult landlords who charge unnecessary cleaning and repair fees when you leave.
Book in Advance
Book your moving day as far in advance as possible.
Miscellaneous
Check if you’ve left anything to pick up at the laundry, if you have books, rented DVDs, or other borrowed items to return.
Moving is a good opportunity to get rid of a lot of the junk you’ve accumulated over time and that’s just taking up space.
The more things you have to pack/transport, the more work it is and the higher the costs.
Empty the cupboards, attic, basement, closets, and shelves.
Select the things you use.
The others, throw away or, if they are in good condition, donate them to institutions, sell them to a second-hand shop.
Remember that if you move in winter at 5 pm, it’s night, don’t forget that you need to have lights in the new house for unloading and assembling furniture.
Clean the Destination House
Clean the destination house in advance, making sure to disinfect the kitchen and bathrooms. Keep all clothes hanging on the hangers in the closets, wrapping them in large garbage bags, which can then be tied or taped with paper tape for painting.
Update Your Address in Advance
Make a list and keep it updated with all the institutions and people to whom you have or have not communicated your new address.
Food and Grocery
Reduce your supermarket shopping a month in advance, buying only fresh food and daily use items.
Freezer
Defrost and dry the freezer one or two days in advance.
