Moving Day

We understand that moving can be stressful, especially when moving to a new country. That’s why we’re here to make your move as smooth as possible.

Before you leave

• Double-check every room in the house to ensure nothing is left behind. Open all cupboards and drawers.
• Hand over all copies of the keys to the old house.

Upon arrival

• Keep entrances clear.
• Have predefined locations for each piece of furniture.

Payment

• Payment will be made upon delivery of your belongings.
• You will be given a copy of the transport guide which will include the new address and taxpayer number for the issuance of an invoice/receipt.

Children

Moving day can be confusing for children. Ideally, leave them with a family member or friend. If this isn’t possible, explain everything carefully and try to make the day as easy as possible for them.

• Have their favorite toys, books, and a snack on hand.
• Make the farewell to the old house quick and as fun as possible.
• At the end of the day, treat them to an ice cream to cheer them up.

Pets

The confusion of moving to an unfamiliar environment can cause stress for pets. If possible, leave them with a family member or someone they know well.

• If the move is short, take them with you. Keep them away from the moving company’s employees and don’t let them interfere with their work.
• If you’re moving to another city or country, contact your vet a month in advance to make the necessary arrangements. You’ll probably have to entrust the transport to a specialized moving company. Inquire about insurance for this type of transport.
• During the unpacking of the new house, create a safe space for them, away from the commotion.

Choosing the right date

If possible, avoid moving on weekends and opt for a weekday to avoid extra charges.

Use a GPS-enabled tablet or phone

If you’re moving a long distance, you may want to know the location of your belongings.

• Charge and place a mobile device with GPS inside one of the boxes, ensuring the “Find My Phone” function is enabled.

Double-check

Check cupboards, drawers, appliances, and wardrobes before you leave.
With everything to do, it’s easy to leave something behind.

Ensure there is parking space for the moving van.
