Do you need to store something or help with your move?
The Day Before Your Move
Make sure everything is securely packed for the move.
Set aside items you’ll need immediately (jewelry, valuables, documents, etc.).
Your first day (and night) in your new home will be spent searching for everything that’s been packed, so make life easier on yourself.
Keep these items handy:
- Bedding
- Towels
- A change of clothes
- Toiletries
- Essential kitchen utensils
- Notepad and pen
- Garbage bags
- Flashlight
- Medications, painkillers, and first-aid supplies
Preparing Your Appliances
Defrost your refrigerator (it will need to be transported empty) and unplug all appliances. If you need a technician to disconnect any appliances, schedule this in advance.
Important Information for Your Moving Company
To ensure a smooth move, please provide the following:
- Your complete address, including a contact person or meeting point in case of any miscommunication. A detailed route to your new home (with a map if necessary) would be helpful.
- Information about access to your property, including parking. Please reserve a parking space if needed.
- Measurements of doorways, stairways, and elevators.
- A list of any special items requiring extra care during the move.
Additional Tips
Moving can be stressful, but with careful planning, it can also be an exciting new beginning. Remember to take care of yourself and your family during this transition.
